Sabbath is central to our faith. Stopping, resting, and slowing down to hear from God and to spend time with our family is key to what we are becoming as a church. The Scriptural concept of Sabbath, living a life of balance with ample time for worship, family, and rest, is of great importance to the health of the Highway Family. The command for rest is for our spiritual, physical, and relational well being.

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Exodus 20: 8, 11 (NIV)

"Freedom from secular chores secures freedom to serve the Lord on His own day. The Sabbath was made a day of holy rest so that it might be a day of holy work. Recreation and family fun will not be excluded but worship and Christian fellowship will come first." - Dr. J.I. Packer
